Dean Burnetti has been providing his clients with vigorous, dynamic, and successful representation for over three decades, and he is an asset to each case he handles. He’s familiar with Florida’s local courts, and recognizes the apprehensions clients may have about facing their legal matters alone. Having handled a wide variety of cases for numerous clients throughout Central Florida, Dean knows when to commit to taking a case to trial, and when to negotiate a fair settlement without the need for court intervention.
Born in Elgin, Illinois, Dean moved to Florida in 1976. He earned his Bachelor’s Degree from Warner University in Central Florida then attended and graduated from Oklahoma Baptist Seminary with a degree in Pastoral Ministries in 1980. He then attended law school and graduated from Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, Oklahoma in 1986, and was admitted to The Florida Bar in October of that same year.
Dean began practicing law in Florida in 1986 and has served injury victims throughout the state for more than 33 years. He has dedicated the span of his career to representing people who are injured or suffer from disabilities.
From the very beginning of his legal career, Dean focused on assisting people who had been hurt on the job. He studied Florida’s Workers’ Compensation laws so diligently, that only six short years after he started working as an attorney, he aced the test that allowed him to become Florida Bar Board Certified in Workers’ Compensation.
Shortly after the new millennium, Dean expanded the focus of his practice from dealing exclusively with injured workers to include representation of people who were injured in all types of accidents. While he maintained his Board Certification status in the field of Workers’ Compensation, he diligently immersed himself into learning all he could about various types of civil litigation and personal injury laws and practices outside of the Work Comp arena. In 2013, he, once again, passed the Florida Bar’s extensive test and became Florida Bar Board Certified in Civil Trial Law.
From the very first law firm Dean worked in after he was admitted to the Florida Bar in 1986 until the third firm he worked in 2013, he worked diligently and was a named partner and/or part owner of each firm. In 2013, he took a hiatus from law firm ownership to concentrate his focus on starting a new kind of law firm – one where he would be able to use his talent at practicing law and couple that with his passion of serving God.
In February of 2015, Dean opened the doors to Dean Burnetti Law, a Christian Law Firm. Here, he not only uses the law to help injured people seek the justice they deserve, but he uses his law firm as a medium to share the Word of God. Nearly every day, Dean publishes a Devotion [at https://todaysdevotion.com/], which is a story about how Christ has touched him in some way in his every day life. He frequently gives Bibles to clients when their cases settle, and he often takes the time to pray with them about any of their needs, even if those needs are unrelated to their legal case.
Now, Dean is double Florida Bar Board Certified in the areas of Civil Trial and Workers’ Compensation Law, meaning that the Florida Bar recognizes him as a specialist in these areas. In the State of Florida, Florida Bar Certification is the highest level of evaluation to test the skill, knowledge, proficiency, aptitude, professionalism, and experience of its attorneys in any of the two dozen areas of law that are approved for certification by the State Supreme Court.
These Board-Certified attorneys are the only lawyers allowed to identify themselves as experts or specialists in their field. Florida lawyers who are Board Certified are re-examined every five years to maintain their Board-Certified status. Plus, they must participate in continuing legal education in order to be recertified. Only 7% of attorneys licensed to practice law in the State of Florida are Board Certified, and only a fraction of those have the distinct honor of being Double Board Certified like Dean.
In fact, Dean is ONE OF ONLY FOUR attorneys in the entire State of Florida who is Florida Bar Board Certified in both Civil Trial Law and Workers’ Compensation Law!

Besides being an active member of his church, reading and studying the Bible, and finding new ways to share the Word of the Lord, Dean enjoys the following hobbies:
- Global traveling
- He’s spent extensive time in different parts of Africa (where he’s even had the opportunity to preach at a missionary church!), Italy, and France, not to mention countless cities throughout the United States.
- When the weather’s nice, you can find him cycling around his Auburndale neighborhood.
- Playing his guitars and piano
- (He sings well, too!)
- Following the Tampa Bay Rays
- During the baseball season, his wife, Patti, will even get her nails painted in Rays blue!
- Playing with his dogs, especially his little Chihuahua, Sesena, who he adopted in 2016.
- (He likes to dress her in Rays gear.)
- Adding to his vintage Boy Scout memorabilia collection
- When Dean was a boy, he loved Scouting, and he still has much of his original Boy Scout gear. Today, he carefully selects vintage Boy Scout memorabilia to add to his extensive collection, and reminisces of his nostalgic memories of a simpler time in life that helped develop his unyielding faith in God.
